The address, 30 Allaura Blvd. Unit 3, is a natural expansion for the company driven by the increasing success of the flagship product, The Rain Collector.
Prior to this move, the company has had full focus on The Rain Collector, now dubbed ‘TRC’ series of products. It has executed this by being involved in many trade shows, seminars, and events where the product can be showcased.
This expansion is not just a physical one, as the company is also streamlining its focus on markets of distribution via a reseller network and strategic contracts that assist clients in executing their goals to “go green”.
Lastly, currently an examination of the product line is underway to build a matrix that will offer to specific markets. Currently the TRC line of SOLO and TWIN target the homeowner market. Consideration is being given to other markets and what can be offered to them. The markets of interest are commercial, recreational, and global aid.

While this mission is the primary focus of the company’s efforts, 2009 is a time for action and positive change. It may have been a quiet winter, but an important one in company and product development.
You may have noticed that there is a new logo for The Rain Collector. This was made official in late summer of 2008 to better reflect the product and the EcoManagement mandate of water conservation behind it. This logo revision continued into late 2008 and was finalized for 2009. All of the product line will now don the new logo, including a much smaller product label.
August 2008 saw the first retail appearance of The Rain Collector at Eco Building Resource, a company providing environmentally safe alternatives to construction materials.
In the summer of 2008, Nedco Products began associating itself with “green” business groups and directories to gain awareness. Among the most prominent are, Green Enterprise Toronto, The Green Pages, Zero Footprint, and HotFrog.
October 2008 saw the start of forging alliances and partnerships with other organizations involved in the EcoManagement arena. This included architectural companies, landscaping contractors, and environmental organizations. Discussions are still underway with these industries as Nedco Products seeks to expand its Sustainability Solutions Partner network, the classification of such alliances and partnerships.
Just as January 2009 started, Nedco Products became a member of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. This step was taken to take advantage of the opportunities of business interfacing and networking within the business community of the company.
An aggressive marketing plan was put into action at the start of the year that includes many home and garden shows, speaking engagements, and other education opportunities for the product.
Nedco Products improved its accessibility and service territory for 2009. The company established that it will service the Greater Toronto Area within its existing installation service. The company will also support delivery of product to customers, quoted based on distance within the GTA or outside of it. To improve the means of contacting the company, a toll free number has been added to the existing local phone number.
The Toll Free number is 1-877-71-NEDCO (1-877-716-3326).
Lastly, as of the last week of February 2009, Nedco Products opened a merchant account and now accepts Mastercard and VISA payments in addition to cash and cheque.
Now, stay tuned to this news feed for exciting company news from Nedco Products as it develops.
Nedco News - 1.6.1 Product Status Update

Since the launch of The Rain Collector in April of this year, the product has undergone some major changes to bring about many improvements.
Now in its 3rd version, we thought it would be important to provide a brief product status update.
The Rain Collector is now offered in 4 colours: Hunter Green, Khaki, Black and Espresso. This came about when a different supply line of barrels was found. This led to the inclusion of the first new feature. The barrels come in a translucent white and are then cleaned and painted to customer order specifications. The new feature is incorporated into the painting template as the water level line.
The water level line obviously shows the user how much water is in the system, but can also be used to visually indicate how much water has been used from the system for specific tasks - something that cannot easily be done with Municipal water until the water bill arrives.
The inlet port of the unit was improved to incorporate a fitting for the diverter hose to plug onto. Version 1 units simply had an open hole for the hose to fit into. We found this to require heavy sealant around the hose to prevent water leakage. This became time consuming and the sealant did not always hold up to the heat of the sun. Version 2 of the product came as it does now, but without an integrated inlet adapter. The one on Version 2 units was a testing inlet plug that relied on the secure connection between hose and inlet to keep it together in the bung cap. The inlet now used in Version 3 is a securely fixed inlet that the customer simply connects the hose on. This now makes the Rain Collector “Plug and Play” so to speak, in that all of its parts now either plug onto a fitting or screw into a pre-drilled hole.
Nedco Products held a vendor booth at the recent Windfall Ecology Festival on June 7 & 8, 2008. This was the first mass-public launch for the new product and the response was a success. With orders from this show, Nedco Products sold its 25th unit of The Rain Collector and is now on its way to to 50th. Both the sales of Twin and Solo units are accounted for in this sales figure.
The company has been active in promoting water conservation and The Rain Collector in print advertising, print articles, and local television appearances and it continues to do so by building effective relationships with strategic parters and vendors.
Please visit the product website for the full details of the product at http://www.theraincollector.ca.

The product is a self-contained and self-managing system in that it is completely sealed, manages air flow automatically (with a proprietary valve developed by Nedco owner, Paul Needler), and redirects water flow back to the house downspout system when The Rain Collector is full. There is no need to do any more than turn on the tap when water is needed.
To compliment the product, Nedco announced a suite of services. Available for purchase are an installation service, and 2 levels of annual maintenance.
Please visit the product website for the full details of the product at http://www.theraincollector.ca.
